Swansea Market, Wales

Swansea Market has a little bit of everything, including some things you don't get to see outside Wales very often. There's a wonderful assortment of fish and seafood, such as Welsh Sea Bass, cockles and also a local delicacy, laver bread.
And of course, the iconic Welsh cakes hot off the griddle!

Spotlight on Fish and Chips

There's nothing quite like good fish and chips. The crunch of a good batter, giving way to tender white fish which falls apart at the touch of a fork. It's quite the institution in Britain, and I must say I really miss it.
This fish and chip shop is in Usk, Wales. I must stop off next time I'm visiting!
On a visit to west Wales we stopped at Brown's cafe in Pembroke. It was very cosy and inviting, and the day we stopped in for lunch it was raining and all the windows were steamed up. It was the perfect lunch, and just as we were leaving I read a little article on the counter about Connie Brown and her famous motorcycle ride.
Connie Brown was still working at Brown's Cafe when she died at 102, and she even received an MBE from the Queen. She must have been quite a lady!
Then this week I found this interesting article about how seagulls are stealing fish and chips, and that's it's becoming quite a problem. Whatever next!
